This side effect is printed on the FDA label for Suboxone. It was a question in our daily quiz, where you pick the real side effect from four choices.
Tooth decay, even total tooth loss
It dissolves in the mouth, and the label reports cavities, abscesses and lost teeth, even in people with healthy teeth.
“Reported events include cavities, tooth decay, dental abscesses/infection, rampant caries, tooth erosion, fillings falling out, and, in some cases, total tooth loss.”
After it dissolves, take a sip of water, swish and swallow, and wait an hour before brushing. Tell your dentist you take it.
1,265 reports to the FDA's adverse event system mention cavities or tooth loss. A report is not proof the drug caused it. See the query
